Shiva Saleh, MA, RP

Registered Psychotherapist

Shiva (she/her), pronounced “Shee-vuh”, is a compassionate online therapist specializing in adult mental health for clients aged 18 and older. With over 11 years of experience in diverse clinical settings, including more than 6 years in family medicine, Shiva brings a wealth of knowledge to her virtual therapy practice. Trained in Expressive Arts Therapy at The CREATE Institute and certified in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Shiva provides expert support for anxiety, depression, stress, body positivity, coping skills, and life transitions through online counselling.

Driven by a strong passion for Internal Family Systems (IFS), she has earned acceptance into the prestigious IFS Institute to pursue certification as an Internal Family Systems Therapist. IFS therapy is an evidence-based psychotherapy approach that has proven to be highly effective in treating trauma, anxiety, depression, and addictions. This innovative therapeutic model empowers clients to uncover the root causes of their emotional and behavioural triggers, enabling them to break detrimental patterns and foster healthier emotional well-being.

Shiva’s warm, intuitive approach creates a safe, supportive environment for online therapy, encouraging personal growth and self-reflection. Native to the Niagara Region and residing in Huron County, she also provides therapy services in Farsi, ensuring inclusive, culturally sensitive online mental health care for clients across Canada.

Alongside traditional CBT and mindfulness-based CBT, Shiva offers the unique option to integrate Expressive Art Therapy in online counselling sessions at no additional cost. These sessions combine creative, expressive, and structured therapy approaches, blending CBT with the creative process of expressing emotions through art media such as pens, markers, crayons, and paint. This method promotes emotional healing and self-discovery, especially when words are difficult to find. Art therapy with Shiva is accessible to everyone; no prior art experience is needed, and the focus is on personal growth and well-being, not artistic skill.
